Audi R8 Spyder by ABT photos
If a road going Audi R8 race car isn’t enough, German ‘go fast’ car company ABT, have just released one of the world’s ultimate performance drop tops, the ABT R8 Spyder.
Powered by a 5.2 litre V10 which producers 441 kW (600 HP), the Spyder can clock the 0-100km/h sprint in just 3.8 seconds, while top speed is 320km/h – fast, yes.
But ABT cars are not only quick they can out handle almost any other sports car on the planet.
Specially tuned ABT springs ensure much higher cornering thresholds than any open top has a right to.
And just like the R8 GT-R, the Spyder has its fair share of carbon fibre components, which minimises the overall weight of the car.
This particular car shown also has the optional ABT CR Superlight alloys, which add to its aggressive stance.

The 2009 ABT Golf VI is a car that would impress anyone with unique styling, modern technology, strong performances and an aggressive personality that would make any customer like a race driver Abt braking and sports braking systems provide deceleration suited to the performance hikes.
The standard 122 hp 1.4-litre is expanded to 160 hp while customers wishing to stretch the 'little engine' out further have the option of a 200 hp version - producing almost as much power as the series 2.0 TFSI powerplant but consuming less fuel. But if 1400cc is a little too conservative, then Abt have it covered: the 2.0 TFSI gets upgraded from 210 hp to 240 hp, with a more frugal offering in the form of a 30 hp-hiked 2.0 TDI model with 170 hp.

The 2009 Cadillac Escalade lineup gains a gas/electric hybrid model. Otherwise, this premium large SUV gains a few new features for 2009. Escalade is basically an upscale version of the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. It’s available as a wagon in standard trim or a long-wheelbase ESV. The Escalade EXT is a crew-cab pickup truck that’s similar in design to the Chevrolet Avalanche. EXTs have a folding midgate separating the cab from the cargo bed. Standard-length and ESV wagons seat seven in a 2-2-3 layout, or they seat eight with an optional three-person 2nd-row bench seat. The top-line Platinum Edition package includes specific trim and GM’s Magnetic Ride Control suspension.
The uprated suspension is also standard on the Hybrid and optional on other Escalade models. Wagons are available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. EXTs are AWD only. All conventional models share a 403-hp 6.2-liter V8 engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Maximum towing capacity is 8300 lb. For 2009, this engine can run on E85 ethanol-blended fuel.
